Taking advantage of the presence in Athens of the members of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), in order to carry out work meetings and technical visits, the Technical Chamber of Greece organizes, in collaboration with the Association of Civil Engineers of Greece and the Greek Section of ASCE (ASCE Hellenic Section (Greece)), an international symposium entitled "Sustainability and Infrastructure", with the participation of guest speakers as well as Greek executives from the political, academic and business community. The symposium, which will be open to be attended by Engineers members of TEE after free registration, it will be held on September 6, 2023 at the premises of TEE, Nikis 4 Athens 1st floor, 14.00 – 18.00. It has become imperative for Engineers and construction industry professionals to attend the evolving demands of the modern world and understand emerging trends and technologies that can be leveraged to create resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects.Given the critical role that infrastructure plays in shaping a sustainable future, the Symposium will address: Advanced inventory techniques and systematic infrastructure management practices throughout their life cycle, for optimal use of resources and minimization of environmental impacts. The digital transformation utilizing BIM and Digital Twins technologies to enhance sustainability in the design, study and maintenance phases of projects infrastructure. Building materials with a low carbon footprint to reduce the ecological impact of construction activities. The production of clean energy, RES and the implementation of pioneering environmental projects, which contribute to sustainable development. At the same time, in an era of increased environmental awareness, governments and organizations are increasingly adopting green public procurement policies that incorporate sustainability criteria for environmentally friendly and socially responsible projects.
