Στο κανάλι του στοyoutubeυπάρχει πλήθος οπτικοακουστικού υλικού με την Ελλάδα πρωταγωνιστεί, ενώ μεγάλο μέρος της αρθρογραφίας του –περισσότερα από 400 κείμενα - περιλαμβάνεται και στην εφημερίδα «Νέος Κόσμος».Στις 16 Οκτωβρίου, στο πλαίσιο του 30ουGreek Film Festival, στην Μελβούρνη, πρόκειται να προβληθεί η νέα του ταινία «Τhe Greeks of South America» που δημιούργησε σε συνεργασία με τον Aristolle Roberto Carlos Smithopoulos, η οποία αποτελεί αφιέρωμα στους Έλληνες της Νότιας και Λατινικής Αμερικής.Αξίζει να αναφέρουμε ότι δεν είναι λίγες οι φορές που οι ταινίες του βραβεύτηκαν σε festival.Παιδικές μνήμες εντοπίζονται στον Σκουτάρο, όπου έζησε για λίγο με την οικογένειά του, έπειτα όμως θα φύγει μαζί τους για την Αυστραλία, όπου μεγάλωσε. Αγαπημένη του ταινία ήταν το «Lesvos: fall in love» το οποίο έρχεται πρώτο σε θέαση στο κανάλι του, ενώ έχει προβληθεί σε Αυστραλία και Αγγλία. Ο διαθέσιμος χρόνος των γυρισμάτων ήταν 7 ημέρες και όπως είπε σε συνέντευξή του στο «Ε» ήταν λίγος για να αποτυπώσει όλα όσα μπορεί να προβάλει για το αγαπημένο του νησί. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος που στο πίσω μέρος του μυαλού του έχει την σκέψη για δημιουργία κι άλλης ταινίας αφιερωμένης στην γη των προγόνων του.Έχει σπουδάσει Πολιτικές Επιστήμες και έχει κάνει master για να «εξασφαλίσει» την επαγγελματική του αποκατάσταση. Αντικείμενο της δουλειάς είναι η οικονομική ανάπτυξη-εκπόνηση ερευνητικών σχεδίων και η διαφήμιση. Βέβαια η ιστορία που γνώρισε, ταξιδεύοντας εκεί έξω, είναι όπως λέει η μεγαλύτερη παρακαταθήκη, ενώ τα λεφτά του επιλέγει να τα ξοδεύει σε ταξίδια, στις ταινίες του και σημαντικό τμήμα το αφιερώνει σε υποστήριξη ευάλωτων ανθρώπων.«Η Ελληνική γλώσσα αποτελεί το διαβατήριό μου»«Είναι πολύ σημαντικό να διατηρήσουμε την γλώσσα μας (..) αν χάσουμε την γλώσσα μας χάνουμε την ταυτότητά μας. Αν δεν μιλάς Ελληνικά τι Έλληνας είσαι;»είπε μεταξύ άλλων τονίζοντας ότι η αποτύπωση της κουλτούρας των Ελλήνων της ομογένειας και ο διάλογός ανάπτυξης της ελληνικής αποτελούν ένα δυνατό στοιχείο προκειμένου οι απόγονοι αυτών των ανθρώπων να διατηρούσουν τις μνήμες και την γλώσσα ζωντανή.«Προσπαθώ να βοηθήσω σε αυτό, όπως μπορώ»και τόνισε ότι προς σ’ αυτό το σκέλος θα πρέπει να συνηγορήσει η πολιτική που ασκεί σε διεθνές επίπεδο η χώρα μας. Μάλιστα αναφέρει ότι πριν την κρίση, επί ΠΑΣΟΚ διοχετευόταν χρήμα για την ύπαρξη δασκάλων σε σχολεία της ομογένειας, όπως Βενεζουέλα, Σάο Πάολο κά.«Πρέπει να διατηρηθεί η γλώσσα μας, πρέπει οι απόγονοι των Ελλήνων σε όλο τον κόσμο να την γνωρίζουν»κάνοντας αναδρομή στα ταξίδια του μίλησε για την Αρμενία, την Γεωργία, το Oυζμπεκιστάν  όπου σε κάποιους οικισμούς όπως είπε συνάντησε απογόνους Ελλήνων και συνομιλώντας μαζί τους, όπως είπε, διαπίστωσε ότι πολλές λέξεις που χρησιμοποιούν στο λεξιλόγιό τους έχουν ρίζα αρχαία ελληνική.«Αυτοί είναι πιο αυθεντικοί Έλληνες, μιλούν αρχαία Ελληνικά»είπε χαρακτηριστικά υπενθυμίζοντας ότι οι Έλληνες δεν περιορίστηκαν γεωγραφικά στα όρια της σημερινής χώρας αλλά έφτασαν σε Αίγυπτο και μέχρι την μακρινή Ινδία, όπου η Αρχαία Ελληνική αποτελεί διακριτό γνώρισμα σε ορισμένους πληθυσμούς. Η Ρωσία, η Ουκρανία, η Αλεξάνδρεια της Αιγύπτου, το Καράκας της Βενεζουέλας αποτελούν κάποια μόνο από τα σημεία του χάρτη του όπου συνάντησε ελληνικές κοινότητες.«Το διαβατήριό μου στα ταξίδια αυτά είναι η Ελληνική γλώσσα»τόνιζει και προσθέτει ότι τα ταξίδια του στην Κούβα, στο Μεξικό, στην Κολομβία, στο Περού, στην Βραζιλία κά, έγιναν πιο όμορφα συνομιλώντας την ελληνική με ανθρώπους που ζούσαν εκεί δίνοντας στις στιγμές άλλη διάσταση και δημιουργώντας δυνατούς δεσμούς.«Τώρα είναι διαφορετικά γιατί έχω φίλους εκεί που μας συνδέει κάτι κοινό»είπε και μας παρέπεμψε σε σχετικό άρθρο στον Νέο Κόσμο με τίτλο«The Greek language is our passport to the world».Δεν παρέλειψε να μιλήσει για το ταξίδι του στην Παλαιστίνη, όταν για το διάστημα που έμεινε συνήθιζε να φοράει εμφανώς τον βαφτιστικό του σταυρό. Πήγε στα μέρη που γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε ο Χριστός, γνώρισε Έλληνες που ζουν εκεί, είδε εκκλησίες και όντας απόγονος Μικρασιάτη πρόσφυγα από το Αϊβαλί του ξύπνησαν αφηγήσεις από μαύρες ημέρες βλέποντας τα όσα συμβαίνουν εκεί.«Εμείς οι Έλληνες, έχουμε ζήσει πολέμους, αλλά έχουμε ξεχάσει τις καταστροφικές συνέπειες που αφήνουν πίσω τους»είπε σε άλλο σημείο υπενθυμίζοντας ότι οι Έλληνες δεν πρέπει να ξεχάσουν την γλώσσα τους, την πείνα που κάποτε τους «κυνήγησε» και τους οδήγησε στον ξεριζωμό.«Τώρα που έχουμε λεφτά, δεν είναι σωστό να αφήνουμε άλλους ανθρώπους να υποφέρουν (..) The documentary is a tribute to the Greeks of South and Latin America.It is worth mentioning that his films have been awarded more than once at festivals.Childhood memories are found in Skoutaros, where he lived for a while with his family, but soon afterwards they left for Australia, where he grew up. His favourite film isLesvos: fall in LOVE, which ranks first in views on his channel and has been screened in Australia and England. The available filming time was seven days, which, as he mentioned in an interview withEmpros, was not enough to capture all that his beloved island has to offer. This is why, at the back of his mind, he is already considering producing another film dedicated to the land of his ancestors.He studied Political Science and went on to complete a Master’s degree in order to “secure” his professional career. His professional field includes economic development, research project design, and advertising. However, as he explains, the history he encountered while travelling has been his greatest legacy. As for money, he chooses to spend it on travels, on his films, and dedicates an important part of it to supporting vulnerable people.“The Greek language is my passport”“It is very important that we preserve our language (…) if we lose our language, we lose our identity. If you don’t speak Greek, what kind of Greek are you?” he said, underlining that documenting the culture of the Greek diaspora and promoting dialogue on the development of the Greek language are vital in helping the descendants of Greeks preserve memories and keep the language alive. “I try to help in this, in every way I can,” he added, stressing that Greece’s international policy should also serve this purpose. He recalled that, before the financial crisis, during the PASOK government, funding was provided for the presence of teachers in schools of the diaspora, in places such as Venezuela, São Paulo, and elsewhere. “We must preserve our language, the descendants of Greeks all around the world must know it.”Looking back on his travels, he referred to Armenia, Georgia, and Uzbekistan, where he met descendants of Greeks in certain villages. Speaking with them, he noticed that many of the words they use in their vocabulary are of Ancient Greek origin. “They are more authentic Greeks, they speak Ancient Greek,” he said characteristically, reminding us that Greeks were never confined to the geographical limits of today’s country but expanded to Egypt and even as far as India, where Ancient Greek remains a distinct feature among some populations. Russia, Ukraine, Alexandria in Egypt, and Caracas in Venezuela are just some of the places on his map where he met Greek communities.“My passport on these journeys is the Greek language,” he stressed, adding that his travels to Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and elsewhere became more meaningful when he spoke Greek with people living there, giving those moments another dimension and creating strong bonds. “Now it’s different because I have friends there, and what connects us is something we share,” he said, also referring to a relevant article inNeos KosmosentitledThe Greek language is our passport to the world.He also did not fail to mention his journey to Palestine. During his stay, he would always wear his baptismal cross openly. He visited the places where Christ was born and raised, met Greeks living there, and saw churches. Being a descendant of a refugee from Asia Minor, from Ayvalık, the stories of those dark days were brought to life for him as he witnessed the situation there. “We Greeks have experienced wars, but we have forgotten the devastating consequences they leave behind,” he said at one point, reminding us that Greeks must not forget their language, nor the hunger that once “chased” them and led them to uprooting. “Now that we have money, it is not right to let other people suffer (…). It is great that we are Greeks, but what is even greater is not to forget that we are human beings.”
