Σύνταξη:Ανδρονίκη Κουτσαβλή*English version belowΗ δημιουργία ενός σύγχρονου διαγνωστικού – θεραπευτικού κέντρου για τους καρκινοπαθείς είναι αίτημα του Συλλόγου Καρκινοπαθών με αφορμή τον περίπατο ευαισθητοποίησης στο πλαίσιο των δράσεων του Οκτωβρίου που έχει οριστεί μήνας πρόληψης του καρκίνου του μαστού.Όπως προκύπτει από τα ακόλουθα παρά τις προφορικές δεσμεύσεις, οι απαραίτητες ενέργειες δεν προχωρούν παρά το γεγονός πως το ακτινοθεραπευτικό κέντρο θα καλύψει πάγιες και -δυστυχώς- ολοένα αυξανόμενες, τα τελευταία χρόνια, ανάγκες των κατοίκων των ακριτικών νησιών.Το ιστορικόΘυμίζουμε ότι τον Φεβρουάριο του 2025, ο Διοικητής της 2ηΥΠΕ Πειραιώς και Αιγαίου Χρήστος Ροϊλός σεσυνέντευξη Τύπουπου είχε παραχωρήσει με αφορμή την επίσκεψή του στην Λέσβο, είχε αναφέρει για το εν λόγω θέμα ότι«Δεν τίθεται θέμα αιτήματος, προφανώς εμείς το αίτημα το έχουμε υποβάλει»ενώ είχε επισημάνει ότι η 2η ΔΥΠΕ πρόκειται να υποβάλει στην Περιφέρεια Βορείου Αιγαίου αιτήματα για προμήθεια ιατροτεχνολογικού εξοπλισμού για το Βοστάνειο Νοσοκομείο προκειμένου να ενταχθούν στο ΕΣΠΑ.  Ειδικότερα είχε αναφέρει:«Ασφαλώς και θα ξεκινήσει το είπε ο Περιφερειάρχης και είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα τηρήσει την δέσμευσή του (..) Θα ενταχθεί το αντινοθεραπευτικό (..) εξαρτάται πως είναι τα οικονομικά της ΠΒΑ, μπορεί να μην δεσμευτεί όλο το ποσό για τον πρώτο χρόνο γιατί δεν χρειάζεται να δεσμευτεί. Ότι θα υπάρξει χρηματοδότηση και θα ξεκινήσει μέσω χρηματοδότησης του ΕΣΠΑ είναι απολύτως βέβαιο ότι θα γίνει. Η μελέτη υπάρχει από την Ρόδο, τη διαδικασία την ξέρουμε(..) Όπως το κάναμε στην Ρόδο θα το κάνουμε και στην Μυτιλήνη. Άρα το κομμάτι το μελετητικό το έχουμε. Επίσης έχουμε στενή συνεργασία με το Πανεπιστημιακό εργαστήριο ακτινοθεραπείας στο ΑΤΤΙΚΟΝ οι οποίοι μας προσφέρουν και την τεχνογνωσία και την εκπαίδευση γιατρών που θα προσληφθούν, αλλά και την κάλυψη όταν χρειαστεί όποτε και όπως χρειαστεί με ιατρικό εξειδικευμένο προσωπικό για να λειτουργήσει όταν ολοκληρωθεί.Το έργο προχωράει, το πόσο γρήγορα θα προχωρήσει εξαρτάται από τις δυνατότητες χρηματοδότησης από την ΠΒΑ(..) Επειδή αντιλαμβάνομαι ότι υπάρχουν κι άλλες ανάγκες, δηλ. καλούνται να διαχειριστούν με το κονδύλι που έχουν κι άλλες ανάγκες  δεν μπορώ να σας πω εγώ αυτή τη στιγμή για την ταχύτητα προόδου του έργου. Αλλά είναι ένα από τα θέματα που θα συζητηθούν στην Περιφέρεια»και σε άλλο σημείο πρόσθεσε« Θα καταλήξουμε εμείς με την Περιφέρεια τι από αυτά που εμείς προτείνουμε θα ενταχθούν και αυτά που θα ενταχθούν θα πάνε στο Υπουργείο Υγείας και προφανώς αυτά θα εγκριθούν – εγώ σήμερα εκπροσωπώ το Υπουργείο Υγείας- Εμείς σήμερα θα συνεννοηθούμε τι μπαίνει και τι δεν μπαίνει από αυτά που ζητάμε».Ένα μήνα αργότερα γίνεται γνωστό, σεσυνέντευξη Τύπου,ότι η Περιφέρεια Βορείου Αιγαίου θα αναπτύξει συνεργασία με την ομόλογή της στο Νότιο Αιγαίο στο πλαίσιο ενεργειών για την υλοποίηση του Ακτινοθεραπευτικού.«Ο Περιφερειάρχης είναι διατεθειμένος να προχωρήσουμε στη μελέτη,περιμένουμε το αίτημα του κ. Ροϊλούγια να προχωρήσουμε στη μελέτη για το έργο αυτό. Θα το χρηματοδοτήσουμε από το ΠΔΕ έτσι ώστε να μπορεί να ενταχθεί στο ΕΣΠΑ»,είχε πει τότε ο Αντιπεριφερειάρχης Προγραμματισμού και ΕΣΠΑ Στρατής Κυρατζής, διατυπώνοντας την εκτίμησή του ότιη μελέτη - βάσειεκείνης της Ρόδου - αναμένεται να κοστίσει300.000 ευρώ, ενώ όπως τόνισε ο Περιφερειάρχης η υλοποίηση του συγκεκριμένου έργου έχει ορίζοντα δεκαετίας.Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2025, σεσυνέντευξη Τύπου,μετά από σχετικό ερώτημα του «Ε» ο αντιπεριφερειάρχης προγραμματισμού και ΕΣΠΑ, Στρατής Κυρατζής τόνισε ότι έχειενεργοποιηθεί κωδικός στο πρόγραμμα δημοσίων επενδύσεων,π/υ περίπου 120.000 ευρώ για την μελέτη του έργου, καιαναμένεται το αίτημα από την 2η ΔΥΠΕ Πειραιώς και Αιγαίου που θα εκπονήσει την Μελέτη. Παράλληλα πρόσθεσε ότι διερευνώνται τα χρηματοδοτικά εργαλεία για την εξασφάλιση υλοποίησης του έργου.Η εκδήλωσηΑφετηρία του περιπάτου είναι το Δημοτικό Θέατρο και οι συμμετέχοντες θα τερματίσουν στα Τσαμάκια. Η εκδήλωση γίνεται με την υποστήριξη πολλών τοπικών φορέων.«Στη συμβολική αυτή πορεία θα επαναλάβουμε το αίτημά μας για τη δημιουργία στη Μυτιλήνη ενός σύγχρονου Διαγνωστικού-Θεραπευτικού Κέντρου προς όφελος όλων των συμπολιτών μας. Γιατί η πρόληψη βασίζεται σε άμεσες και δωρεάν ιατρικές πράξεις.Προσκαλούμε όλο τον κόσμο στην παρέα μας για να δυναμώσει η φωνή μας και να μεταφέρουμε όλοι μαζί το μήνυμα της ελπίδας!»καταλήγει το δελτίο Τύπου.While the Authorities StallSteps to Remind of the Creation of a Radiotherapy Center for Cancer PatientsBy Androniki KoutsavliThe establishment of a modern diagnostic and treatment center for cancer patients is a demand of the Cancer Patients’ Association, on the occasion of the awareness walk organized as part of the October initiatives, which has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.As becomes evident from the following, despite verbal commitments, the necessary actions are not moving forward, even though the radiotherapy center would cover permanent and ever-increasing needs of the inhabitants of the frontier islands in recent years.The BackgroundWe remind that in February 2025, the Governor of the 2nd Health District of Piraeus and the Aegean, Christos Roilos, in apress conferenceheld during his visit to Lesvos, had stated on the matter:“There is no issue of a request, obviously we have already submitted the request,”while emphasizing that the 2nd Health District was planning to submit to the North Aegean Region requests for the procurement of medical technology equipment for the Vostaneio Hospital so that they could be included in the NSRF program. Specifically, he had said:“Of course, it will start, the Regional Governor said so and I am certain he will keep his commitment (…) It will be included in radiotherapy (..). It depends on the financial situation of the North Aegean Region, perhaps not the entire amount will be committed in the first year, because there is no need for that. That there will be funding and that it will start through NSRF funding is absolutely certain. The study already exists from Rhodes, we know the procedure (…) As we did it in Rhodes, we will do it in Mytilene as well. So, we already have the study part. We also have close cooperation with the University Radiotherapy Laboratory at ATTIKON, who are providing us both the know-how and the training of doctors to be hired, as well as coverage when needed, however and whenever required, with specialized medical staff in order for it to operate when completed. The project is progressing; how quickly it will progress depends on the funding capacity of the North Aegean Region (..). Since I understand there are other needs as well, that is, they are called upon to manage with the budget they have other needs too, I cannot tell you right now the speed of the project’s progress. But it is one of the issues that will be discussed at the Region.”In another part he added:“We will reach an agreement with the Region as to which of the things we propose will be included, and those that are included will go to the Ministry of Health and obviously those will be approved – today I represent the Ministry of Health – Today we will coordinate on what is included and what is not from what we request.”A month later it became known, in apress conference, that the North Aegean Region would develop cooperation with its counterpart in the South Aegean as part of efforts for the implementation of the Radiotherapy Center.“The Regional Governor is willing for us to proceed with the study, we are waiting for Mr. Roilos’ request so that we can move forward with the study for this project. We will finance it from the Public Investment Program so that it can be included in the NSRF,”had said at the time the Deputy Regional Governor of Planning and NSRF, Stratis Kyratzis, expressing his estimation that the study – based on that of Rhodes – was expected to cost €300,000, while the Regional Governor stressed that the implementation of the project had a ten-year horizon.In September 2025, during apress conferenceand in response to a related question by“E”, the Deputy Regional Governor of Planning and NSRF, Stratis Kyratzis, stressed that a code had been activated in the Public Investment Program with a budget of approximately €120,000 for the project’s study, and that the request was awaited from the 2nd Health District of Piraeus and the Aegean, which would carry out the study.
