This year, the Third National Team had 136 teams, even if four decided not to take part in the resumption of the championship. With the finalization of the non-continuation of the local championships due to the pandemic, the EPO seized the opportunity to reduce the teams in the category, since the 53+3 champions of the Greek National League will not be promoted to the 3rd National League. On the contrary, as many teams as are foreseen will be relegated normally in the announcement from each group. That is, 51 teams will return to the local leagues, including the four that do not participate in the resumption, as reported by onsports.gr. Regarding the promotion to the Football League, it is valid as provided in the announcement, that is, 4 teams will be promoted, which will arise from the barrage of champions. In order to maintain this format in the 3rd National League, with 5-6 groups, then it is expected that there will be changes in the promotion of the 53+3 champions of the PES, possibly by holding promotion play-offs, in order to promote half the teams. The final decisions for the 3rd National are expected to be made in June and ratified at the annual General Assembly of the EPO.
