The non-profit organization Resqship yesterday rescued 43 people who were on an overcrowded dinghy inside the Mediterranean search and rescue (SAR) zone in Tunisia. The vessel was spotted for the first time on Sunday by the maritime NGO Sea Watch, which raised the alarm to all surrounding authorities. According to Sea Watch, around 12 people were in the water when the boat was first spotted, most likely to prevent it from sinking and to protect the children on board. The NGO Resqship arrived late yesterday evening to save the migrants, bringing all the people on board its sailing boat Nadir, more than 24 hours after the alarm was raised. The rescued people mostly come from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sudan and Egypt. Among them were seven women and four children. The Resqship sailing boat is traveling to Lampedusa, where the 43 rescued people and 19 others who were saved during the night between Monday and Tuesday will disembark
