Germany and Colombia signed an important agreement on Wednesday to deepen cooperation on migration policy, strengthening legal pathways for Colombian nationals to study, train and work in Germany, while also stepping up efforts to curb irregular migration.

A carefully worded, four-page letter is sending shockwaves through Colombia’s political establishment, after former Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva accused President Gustavo Petro of drug addiction and the cause of his erratic conduct, calling into question the leader’s ability to govern. Leyva, a veteran statesman and lifelong conservative known for his work on peace negotiations with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerrilla, did not mince words.

The Colombian capital is once again set to turn into a walkable, open-air museum as ARTBO Fin de Semana (ARTBO Weekend) returns for its ninth edition from April 25 to 27. Organized by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB), ARTBO Weekend has become a cornerstone of the city’s cultural calendar and a key prelude to the ARTBO International Art Fair held in September.
