In the Albanian debate over the armed conflict between Israel and Iran, one point that has surfaced repeatedly is the distinction between the two regimes: Israel is a democracy where power is limited and accountable to the people and their elected representatives, whereas Iran is a theocracy, where the Supreme Leader and the elite around him rule over citizens and systematically repress them. For this reason, Albania should stand with Israel.
