Eight people found to have had contact with Burma’s 245thCOVID-19 patient have been ordered to quarantine themselves at their homes in Myitkyina’s Shatapru Ward.

The Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) has restricted travel in the territory under its control in N’mawk (Momauk) Township in Kachin State’s Bhamo District after Burma’s 249thCOVID-19 case was found in the township.

Some 56 teachers have been restricted from traveling after it was found that one of them had contact with Burma’s 249thCOVID-19 patient.

More than 400 migrant workers returned to Kachin State from Thailand since June 10, according to the Kachin State COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee.

A high school teacher, who was marking final exams in Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State, was sent to a quarantine facility at Myitkyina Public Hospital this Thursday after having contact with COVID-19 Case 249.
